In this workshop we built a 2.2F windmill at an apprentice summer camp hosted by an industrial service company for their roughly 100 apprentices. Everyone of them had a chance to participate in the project, learn some skills and be a part of the final result. The windmill that was built in the workshop will later get installed at the company headquarter.
Off-Grid PV system workshop – Luxembourg

In this workshop we built a small 1kW PV system with a group from a youth center in Dudelange, LUX. The system has some batterys and an inverter which can power lights and music for the local youth next to a skate park and a basketball field.
DIY Wind turbine workshop – Stralsund, Germany

In this workshop we built a 2.2F windmill for a community vegetable farm which is turning their cooling equipment and waterpumping off grid. We installed a solar system too in this project. The project included the development of an analog wind turbine control circuit which works in hand with the intelligent lithium battery pack and turns the windmill off when the battery is fully charged.
Micro wind turbine workshop – Krems, Austria

In this workshop we built some small wooden blades, tested a generator and wound some copper coils. Objective of the project was to show children the physics behind a wind turbine.
DIY Wind turbine workshop – Cobstädt, Germany

In this workshop we did rebuild a 2.2F windmill that has been damaged by some heavy winter storms. The turbine was originally built in 2019.
Scoraig Worksession with Hugh Piggott

Jonathan went to Scoraig, Scotland to work on the new Wind turbine DIY book with Hugh Piggott. Also some turbine maintenance work was done there which is always the case when visiting Hugh.
Wind turbine DIY Workshop – Luxembourg

In this collaborative workshop with project Windmobile on the LTETT engineering school we erected a custom built tower with a C-rotor windmill that was built by Windmobile some years ago.

In this Workshop / Project we built a wind turbine for an old house which is being renewed at the moment. The house is fully off grid and has a large PV system and battery storage.

A one-day long workshop and presentation for a group of business executives with the goal of building something with our own hands and exploring the field of DIY renewable energy.
A fully working micro wind turbine was built in this session.

In this course we built a wind turbine with a family group who made this build project and the final wind turbine a birthday present for their dad. Some good time involved!

In this public course-project we built a wind turbine at Robert Paget’s off-grid cheese dairy in addition to the existing PV system. It’s now running nicely there and powering Roberts cheese making.
Hands-On DIY wind turbine course – Zwickau, Germany

A School Project in which we did install the wind turbine that was previously built there in 2019. The turbine is now installed in the school yard and providing electricity along with some PV panels for student projects.
Hands-On DIY wind turbine course – Gotha, Germany

On this large Course / Project (which took place on farm) a we did build a 3F Piggott wind turbine and erected it in the field nearby. A freestanding tower was also built during the course.
We also did put a complete Off-Grid system in place which included batteries, PV-Arrays, charge controllers for both wind and PV and other equipment. The setup does now power a small off-grid sheep keeping facility.

With a large group of Students, we did install a 2.2F wind turbine on our temporary test installations site at BoKu University Vienna. The turbine is being monitored there for a while to collect data and analyze its behavior.
